Jesse Ese, a senior news correspondent and news editor with Rhythm 94. 7 FM, Yenagoa, was appointed alongside three others as Eminent Peace Ambassadors in recognition of their immense contribution towards the enthronement of peace in the Niger Delta region.
The World Peace President, His Excellency, Ambassador Per Stafsen, (JP) of the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) and the United Nations Peace Volunteers, who came all the way from Denmark to personally make the presentations to the awardees, specifically charged Ambassador Jesse Ese to promote the activities of the United Nations through the mainstream media and the social media.
Speaking during the ceremony which was held yesterday in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, the International Spokesman of the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), Ambassador Emmanuel Nkweke, while highlighting their responsibilities as Peace Ambassadors, charged them to promote global peace and also strengthen the United Nations’ area of International Cooperation for peace of the world.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the event, Ambassador Jesse Ese, who expressed gratitude to God for the international recognition given to him, stated that the award will encourage him to do more in enthroning peace in Bayelsa State and the Niger Delta region.
Our correspondent, Solomon Unuwoma, reports that other persons conferred with the enviable status as Eminent Peace Ambassadors are: Amb. Bishop Moses Omote of the Christ Missionaries Crusaders Church, Amb. Emmanuel Igho Omuabor, and Amb. Bolanle Kolapo Ebi.
Henceforth, they are to function as peace makers in any part of the world with regards to the declaration on the right of people to peace (1984) of the United Nations resolution.
