MULADE APPEALS TO OKOWA FOR PERDESTRIAN BRIDGES AT PTI JUNCTION, EFFURUN ROUNDABOUT

The National Coordinator/CEO of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), Comrade Sheriff Mulade has commended the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for the recent approval of two pedestrian bridges in Asaba, saying it was a right step in the right direction.
The foremost Peace and Environmental Justice advocate who made the commendation in his office, passionately appealed to the Governor to approve pedestrian bridges at PTI junction and Effurun roundabout.
Comrade Mulade lamented the difficulties that pedestrians contend with when crossing the high ways at either side.
“It is always a pitiable sight to see both the young and old trying to cross the ever busy PTI junction and the Effurun Roundabout when going about their daily activities “, he said.
The CEPEJ boss disclosed that a lot of accidents involving loss of lives and property caused mainly by pedestrians crossing the high ways at PTI junction and Efurun Roundabout have been recorded.
“These high ways are very busy roads at all times and to save people from endangering their lives in attempting to cross these roads, I am appealing to the Delta State Government to construct pedestrian bridges at these busy spots. The earlier the Delta State Government heed to this advice the better for road users”, he said.
According to him, constructing pedestrian bridges in such busy places will drastically reduce the carnage caused by motor accidents in the twin cities of Effurun and Warri.
