ASSEMBLY CONFIRMS OSUYALI AS EXECUTIVE SECRETARY DELTA STATE AGENCY FOR CONTROL OF HIV AND AIDS 

The State House of Assembly  has screened and confirmed Dr John Osuyali for appointment as Executive Secretary of the Delta State Agency for the Control of HIV and Aids.

The screening of the nominee followed a motion moved by the Majority Leader Hon. Tim Owhefere,seconded by Honourable Daniel Yingi and adopted

Thereafter the Speaker directed the nominee to appear for screening where Hon. Alphonsus Ojo introduced him and applied that the nominee should be allowed to bow and go which was granted by the Speaker.

Dr John Osuyali was confirmed by the House following a motion by the Majority leader Honorable Tim Owhefere seconded by the Chief Whip Hon. Pat Ajuda.

Meanwhile, the House has adopted the calendar of sitting of the fourth session of the sixth Assembly from June 19,2018 to May 28,2019 subject to any amendment that may be dictated by the exigencies of the House.

The adoption was sequel to a motion moved by the Majority Leader Hon. Tim Owhefere seconded by Honourable Emeke Nwaobi and adopted via a voice vote by the Speaker, Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori.

Earlier  at plenary the Speaker, Hon. Oborevwori welcomed members to the fourth session of the sixth Assembly which commenced today with a charge on them to remain dedicated and committed to their legislative business.

Hon. Oborevwori in an address to the House  commended members for their unflinching support to the leadership of the House during the third session.

He thanked members for their diligence in attending plenary and for their positive disposition which made the activities in the third session very successful.

The Speaker congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the successful celebration of the third anniversary of his administration and commended him for his support to the House and for the mutual respect existing amongst the three arms of government in the state.

The House deferred to Thursday next week the report of the joint committee on Science and Technology  and Information on the Delta State Information Communication Agency Bill and the Delta State Sickle Cell Bill which was slated for a committee of the whole.
