Kwara Assembly on a Verge of establishing Customary Court of Appeal, Assembly Service Commission

A Bill for a  law to establish and for composition of Customary Court of Appeal in Kwara state and a bill for a law to amend the State House of Assembly Service Comission have passed through Second Reading at the Floor of the House.

Speaking on the general principles of the 2 Bills, members expressed confidence that the passage of the 2 Bills, will ensure quick dispensation of justice and quality legislation, which according to them, will enhance the overall wellbeing of the people of the state.

They then commended the Speaker, Dr. Ali Ahmad, for his leadership role, in ensuring that autonomy for State Legislature in the country, saw the light of the day.

The House Leader, Hon Hassan Oyeleke and chairman of House Committee on Ethics Privileges and Judiciary, Barrister Kamal Fagbemi, had urged members to ensure accelerated passage of the 2 Bills, in view of their tremendous benefits to the people of the state, pointing out the Bills satisfied all the constitutional requirements.

Speaking on the 2 Bills, the Speaker, Dr, Ali Ahmad , while directing the Clerk of the House, Hajia Halimat Jummai Kperogi, to read the Bills for the second time, directed the House Committee on Ethics Privileges and Judiciary, to conduct public hearing on the Bill for a law to  establish  Customary Court of Appeal, to ensure all stakeholders inputs, with a view to enhancing enactment of enduring and sustainable law for the people of the state.
