Court strikes out APC’s case against Egbabor

The High Court of Justice of Delta State sitting at Ozoro, yesterday struck out the pre-election case challenging the eligibility of Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor, Chairman Isoko North Local Government Council and his Vice, Hon Joy Okor.

The Presiding Judge, Honourable Justice G. Briki-Okolosi, struck out the matter on the grounds that the claimants did not prove their allegations before the Court.

The Court awarded N10,000.00 each to the four defendants in the suit against the claimants, Mr Anthony Okuabor and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Chairman Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor, in his reaction gave thanks to God for the victory and dedicated it to the people of the local government area.

“I give God glory for this victory. It’s indeed a victory for our party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the people of Isoko North who voted massively for me.”

“This victory will encourage us further in carrying out our duties in making life better for our people at the grassroot.” He added

Reacting to the verdict on the case, Isoko North chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Godwin Ogorugba, said the judgement was expected, adding that the party’s candidates were duly nominated according to the provisons of the electoral guidelines. He congratulated the Council Chairman and his Vice Chairman on their victories and called for more support from the people of the area.
