DELTAN'S NOT SATISFIED WITH ABYSMAL DEVELOPMENT, MULADE URGED OKOWA TO DO MORE
A Niger Delta based peace and environmental rights activist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade yesterday declared in Paris France that there is no formidable opposition to challenge PDP in the state.
However, Sheriff Mulade called on the governor, Delta State Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to save the State from economic retrogression, infrastructural deficit and relocation of companies out of the State due to harsh business climate and insecurity.
Comrade Sheriff urged governor Okowa to jettison political sycophants who always sing praises that all needed to be done for Delta’s has been take care of.
Mulade urged governor Okowa to focus on projects that promotes economic and human development.
Mulade also stressed the need for Governor Okowa to do more in the aspect of providing better support for industrial and infrastructural revival of the Oil rich Delta State through the provision of Jobs, peace, human friendly security and fair economic policies to bring back the companies.
He also urged Okowa to take advantage of the dry season to resuscitate his administration’s developmental strides across the State by ensuring that all contractors particularly handling road projects carry out their jobs qualitatively with regards for standards and specifications.
He noted that the targeted beneficiaries of any projects should know the details of what is being done in their area, the people should know the contractor and the specification of the job being handled for them.
He added that there is need for people to also know the benefit of such projects to them.
“The people should be consulted to know their pressing needs and the most appropriate projects for them before embarking on such jobs, this will go a long way in mitigating poor quality jobs and ambiguous projects with less impact on the people,” Mulade said.
During a press media chart in Paris France. Mulade Said, “An independent investigation carried out to ascertain the level of social impact of the State government’s developmental efforts has clearly shown that there is gross disconnect between the State government and the people.
“It may sound funny but I am expressing the concern and worry of many Deltains, they are not happy and comfortable with the Government but kept mute.
“I want to strongly appeal to our dynamic Governor Sen Dr, Ifeanyi Okowa to take advantage of the dry season and embark on people oriented projects that will directly have impact on the people of Delta State”.
Mulade further stated that the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, led Delta State government should not give opportunity to opposition in the State to ridicule this administration as Deltan’s expects victory for the PDP comes 2019.
