TIMIYAN WANTS MORE COVID 19 TESTING AND TREATMENT CENTERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
Worried by the increasing cases of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country, an illustrious son of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Council Area, Chief George Timiyan has called on government at the federal and state levels to equip the public hospitals across the nation to carry out coronavirus test as well as treat anyone who contracted the virus.
Chief George Timiyan who made the call recently commended President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for partially relaxing the lockdown.
He noted that the partial relaxation of the lockdown will lead to movement of people from one place to the other within the state, thus the need for more COVID 19 testing centers, isolation and quarantine centers as well.
He lauded all those on the fore front of fighting the COVID 19 virus and also expressed gratitude to President Buhari, Governor Okowa and other Governors for paying the health workers additional allowance to motivate them.
He also commended the security agents who have been enforcing compliance and also appealed to those at the various state entry points not to allow any non essential or food vehicles access to the state.
Chief Timiyan who is the Miyenkeremowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom appealed to anyone with fever symptoms not to administer self medication but contact NCDC or go to the designated health centers for proper medication.
According to him, COVID 19 can be defeated when everyone adhere to the various precautionary measures from the NCDC and health experts.
