PIPELINES SURVEILLANCE: DELTA IJAW ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS VANGUARD WANTS PRESIDENT BUHARI TO CALL CAPTAIN NOSA OKUNBOR TO ORDER
The Delta Ijaw All Progressives Congress (APC) Vanguard, has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari for his timely intervention on the alleged incessant intimidation, subjugation, servitude and dire economic deprivation orchestrated against Ijaw members of the APC in Warri South West and Warri North Local Government Areas by the Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer of Ocean Marine Solutions Limited, Captain Nosa Okunbor.
In a letter signed by Mr. Siko Eyenmi, President, Delta State Ijaw APC Vanguard/ Secretary, APC Warri North and Mr Paul Boyitie Secretary, Delta State APC Vanguard/ Secretary, APC Warri South West to the President, they stated that things might get out of hand if urgent steps were not taken to call Captain Nosa Okunbor to order.
They copied Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru APC Governorship Candidate 2019, General Elections Delta State and Hon George. U. Timinimi, Director General, Presidential Campaign Council/ Governorship Campaign Council Delta State.
They wrote that; “It has become imperative for us as a vocal arm of the All Progressives Congress in the Ijaw areas of Warri South West and Warri North Local Government Areas of Delta State to draw your attention and that of our indefatigable leaders at the National level of the party to the mindless campaign of economic deprivation, poverty and servitude being spearheaded by one Captain Hosa Okunbor, the Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Ocean Marine Solutions Limited against members of our party at the grassroots”.
They alleged that the Company of Captain Nosa Okunbor was awarded the mouth-watering contract for the Surveillance Oil Pipelines within the communities in the Escravos River and other adjoining communities, adding that; “Although we were very curious about the rationale upon which Ocean Marine Solutions Limited was awarded the contract, we kept silent to give him the benefit of acting professionally. However, recent complaints which we have verified using our grassroots investigating mechanisms have revealed that the core intention of Captain Hosa Okunbor is to continuously impoverish teaming members of the APC in the Ijaw areas in order to give members of the opposition an undue advantage in future elections”.
They claimed that Captain Nosa Okunbor has succeeded in terminating the employments of all APC members and those sympathetic to the course of the ruling party in the current oil pipelines surveillance arrangement, and added they; “Meanwhile, diehard members of the opposition are awarded several parts of the contract even though many of them are not qualified for the jobs. Special advisers and Assistants to the government of Delta State are strictly and boldly empowered in a bid to totally annihilate members of the APC in these two Local Government Areas completely”.
According to the the letter also; “As part of our findings, we discovered that Ocean Marine Solutions lacks the competence, experience and technical expertise to perform the said job. This is evident in the fact that the job which was awarded to Captain Hosa Okunbor as a single contract has further been subcontracted and further contracted in an endless chain to several contractors most of whom are fugitives or their loyalists who are totally committed and sympathetic to the course of the opposition”.
“Your Excellency Sir, the atrocities of Captain. Hosa Okunbor and his cohorts are mindboggling and are currently causing serious uproar and rancour within the riverine and coastal communities. This uproar is capable of throwing the country and oil production into comatose and as such, it is expedient that you intervene quickly to quell the impending danger as various groups within the region are at daggers drawn as a result of Captain Nosa Okunbor favouritism and nepotism grounded in his total disdain for our great party of which you are the leader”, they wrote.
“Mr. President Sir, we cannot allow Captain Hosa Okunbor to continue appropriating funds and amassing wealth towards the sole reason of dismantling members of our party in the riverine areas. This will not only be inimical to the economic and political growth of our members and party in the Ijaw areas, it will in turn have a negative effect on the success of our party at the national level”, they add.
They therefore called on the President to call Ocean Marine Solutions Limited and Captain Hosa Okunbor to order to check his romance with known elements who will stop at nothing to economically cripple members of the party and direct him to extend the surveillance jobs to members of the party who have been hitherto earmarked for economical annihilation.
