Edo PDP’s Pry: Election to Commence Shortly

 

The Much awaited Primary Election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo state is yet to Commence.

Delegates arrived early as 7: 30 am and gathered at the Venue of the Event to cast their Votes for their Choice Aspirants.

As of this morning, Two Aspirants, The Incumbent Governor, Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki and Ken Imasuengbon are the only Contestants following the earlier withdrawal from the race of Hon Omoregie Ogbeide-
Ihama and Gideon Ikhine.

But in a new turn of development, The only challenger of Governor Godwin Obaseki for the governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Kenneth Imasuagbon, has stepped down.

He withdrew from the race as delegates were moving to Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin for the indirect primary election.

It was gathered that both Obaseki and Imasuagbon met in the early hours of Thursday in Government House, Benin behind closed doors to perfect the deal and strike a balance..

All attempt to reach Imasuengbon for comments was frutile.

Going by this, Governor Godwin Obaseki’s mission to clinch the party’s Candidature stands unopposed
