Delta State Agencies Unite to Enhance Traffic Enforcement_

The Delta State Traffic Management Authority (DESTMA) has formed a strategic partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to strengthen traffic enforcement in the state. This collaboration aims to address traffic violations, congestion, and accidents, while promoting road safety and compliance with traffic regulations.

According to DESTMA’s Director-General, Hon. Benjamin Okiemute, the partnership will involve joint patrols, coordinated enforcement operations, and public awareness campaigns. The agencies will work together to curb reckless driving, reduce harassment of officers, and promote adherence to traffic laws.

The partnership is expected to commence fully in the first quarter of 2025, with pilot operations in high-traffic areas. DESTMA assures the public of professionalism and fairness in the implementation of the initiative, emphasizing that all enforcement activities will be carried out in line with the law.
