Ex-Agitators Distance Themselves from Planned Protests, Pass Vote of Confidence on PAP Administrator

The national leadership of the Third Phase beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has dissociated itself from planned protests and pipeline vandalism, instead opting for dialogue with the federal government and PAP authorities to address their grievances.

In a meeting convened by the national chairman, General Elaye Slaboh, the ex-agitators resolved to engage in constructive discussions to press home their demands, rather than resorting to destructive protests.

They also passed a vote of confidence on the PAP Administrator, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, and the national chairman, General Elaye Slaboh.

The ex-agitators cited the progress made under Dr. Otuaro’s leadership, including the payment of stipends and empowerment programmes.

They also commended the National Security Adviser, Nasiru Ribadu, and the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for their support.

The meeting was attended by beneficiaries from the first and second phases of the PAP, as well as stakeholders from the Ijaw Youth Council.

The ex-agitators urged their members not to allow themselves to be used for selfish gains and to remain calm in the face of provocation.
