*APC CROSS RIVER STATE CONGRATULATES DISTINGUISHED SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF THE STATE ON THEIR CONFERMENT OF CHIEFTAINCY TITLES*
The State Chairman Alphonsus Ogar Eba Esq JP and the entire State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Cross River State Chapter, heartily congratulates the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, Ph.D., who was conferred with the revered chieftaincy title of Otiribi 1 (The Pathfinder) of Bekwarra by His Royal Majesty, Chief Linus Ogbeche Odey Ushie Ebeshe k’ akpa 11, Paramount Ruler of Bekwarra Local Government Area.
We also extend our congratulations to Hon. Dr. Chief Emmanuel Bassey Loyalty Ironbar, Chief of Staff to the Governor, who was decorated as Okpenihi 1 (The Custodian) of Bekwarra; High Chief Higgins Peters, honoured as Uni Ukpere 1 (Destiny Helper) of Bekwarra; Ntufam Chief Peter Ojie, Ph.D., KSJI, JP 11, conferred as Abuchu 1 (Home Comer) of Bekwarra*; and Dr. Mrs. Emana Duke Ambrose-Amawhe, recognized as Utanung Ebekwarra (Bekwarra’s Queen of Beauty); Dr Martha Agba who was embellished with the tile ” Onyi Iritiem 1(Kind heartedness”)as well as other illustrious sons and daughters who equally received prestigious titles during this year’s celebration.
The conferment, which took place, during the grand Bekwarra New Yam and Cultural Festival with the theme “Bekwarra: Strength and Unity through Cultural Rebirth”, highlights their personal achievements and commitment to the progress and cultural pride of Bekwarra Nation.
We also commend His Royal Majesty, Chief Linus Ogbeche Odey, for upholding the traditions of the Bekwarra people and for recognizing the contributions of these distinguished honorees to our society and urge the new title holders to continue to serve with honour, humility, and dedication.
Highlights of the Occasion was empowerment of women and youths by Sir Augustine Odere Foundation and Cultural display.
